Description
Hitachi High Purity Poly-S2 (L79) Sample Film PN 10023532 supporting your XRF!
This item replaces the old Hostaphan and Poly-S films designed for use with XRF applications. It is 3.5μm polyester film, and is manufactured using the same process. However, Poly-S2 is slightly different, as it contains very low levels of Phosphorus and Calcium impurities. Film comes in dispenser box with serrated edge to easily tear of your film!
Includes:
- 1 Box of 3.5 um Polyester Thin Film (100m x 75 mm roll)
The manufacturer for the previous items: Hostaphan (L72) and Poly-S (L74) has informed us that both Hostaphan and Poly-S films are no longer available, and we have sourced a replacement film:
The new Poly-S2 (L79), part number 10023532 is replacing both films. Like Hostaphan and Poly-S, it is 3.5μm polyester film, and is manufactured using the same process. However, Poly-S2 is slightly different, as it contains very low levels of Phosphorus and Calcium impurities.
Before you start using the new Poly-S2 film, you will need to verify there is no difference in performance between the old and new films for your application. This test will determine if the film can be used “as received” or if you need to either re-standardize or recalibrate your instrument.
Please follow the procedure below before using Poly-S2:
1. Measure a QC check sample prepared in a cup and safety window fitted with your current film to first confirm the analyser is operating as expected.
2. Measure the same QC check sample prepared in a cup and safety window fitted with Poly-S2. If there is no significant difference in the results, continue as normal with the new film.
3. If the results difference is not acceptable, first copy the calibration, then re-standardize the copied calibration using cups and/or safety windows fitted with Poly-S2 under the setting-up samples (SUSs).
4. Measure the QC sample again with Poly-S2 film against the re-standardized calibration. If the results are now correct, you can proceed as normal with Poly-S2 and the copied calibration.
5. If there is still a difference between the QC results with old and new film, then you need to re-calibrate the analyzer using Poly-S2 film, i.e. measure calibration standards, carry out the calibration regression, measure setting-up samples, as you originally did with the old film.6. Follow this process for each calibration using sample film.
