Description
Entry-level Vanta. SDD detector with graphene window. Axon technology for repeatable results. MIL-STD-810G drop tested. A rugged, straightforward instrument for standard RoHS compliance work.
Is the Vanta Element Right for Your RoHS Work?
The Vanta Element is the right choice if:
- You need a reliable, rugged entry-level instrument for standard RoHS screening of electronics and consumer products
- Your work involves Pb, Cd, Hg, Cr, and Br screening in typical compliance jobs
- Durability and uptime in demanding environments matter - warehouse, dock, or manufacturing floor
- Budget is a primary driver and you do not need advanced multi-beam analysis or optional collimation
- A solid warranty and proven platform are important to your purchasing decision
Consider the Vanta Element-S instead if:
- You need a 4-position filter wheel for improved sensitivity and faster results
- You are screening a wider range of materials or need stronger performance near thresholds
Consider the Vanta Core or Max instead if:
- You need an 8-position filter wheel
- Optional 3 mm collimation
- Highest analytical performance in the Vanta line
- GPS, hot-swap battery, or advanced accessory compatibility are required

What Makes the Vanta Element Work for RoHS
Axon technology - the core of every Vanta analyzer Every Vanta analyzer, including the Element, is built on Evident's proprietary Axon technology. Axon uses ultra-low-noise electronics to enable higher X-ray counts per second, producing fast, accurate, and repeatable results. This means your first measurement and your last measurement of the day are consistent - and results are consistent across multiple instruments if your team runs more than one unit. For compliance screening where repeatability near regulatory thresholds matters, this is the foundation that makes Vanta a trusted platform.
SDD detector with graphene window The Vanta Element uses a silicon drift detector with a high-sensitivity graphene window. The graphene window improves light element transmission compared to conventional beryllium windows, contributing to better sensitivity across the range of RoHS elements in both polymer and metal matrices.
Fixed aluminum filter The Vanta Element uses a fixed aluminum primary beam filter rather than a multi-position filter wheel. This is the key hardware distinction between the Element and the Element-S or Core and Max models. For standard RoHS screening of electronics and consumer products at typical thresholds, the fixed filter configuration is capable and practical. For applications requiring optimized beam conditions across a wide range of material types, the Element-S or above offer more flexibility.
2W X-ray tube at up to 35 kV The Vanta Element runs a 2-watt tungsten anode X-ray tube at up to 35 kV. This is a lower power configuration than the Element-S, Core, and Max models, which run 4-watt tubes. In practical terms this means slightly longer measurement times compared to higher-tier Vanta models, but fully adequate for standard RoHS compliance screening at regulatory thresholds.
MIL-STD-810G drop tested and IP54 rated The Vanta Element is drop tested to US Department of Defense MIL-STD-810G standards from 4 feet and rated IP54 for dust and water splash resistance. For teams working in electronics manufacturing, warehouse receiving, or supplier audit environments, this level of ruggedness reduces the risk of costly damage and keeps the instrument in service.
Warranty and Service Coverage All Vanta analyzers come with Evident's standard manufacturer warranty - a meaningful factor in total cost of ownership for entry-level buyers. Confirm current warranty terms at time of order.
Intuitive interface with fleet management capability The Vanta Element runs on Linux with cloud-enabled fleet manager capability. Custom setups, pass/fail thresholds, and user configurations can be pushed across an entire fleet of Vanta instruments from a central PC. For compliance teams managing multiple analyzers across multiple locations, this simplifies administration and keeps settings consistent.
What You Can Screen With It
Incoming component and material inspection Screen connectors, cables, housings, fasteners, and metal parts for restricted elements at the point of receipt. Deploy it on the dock or in receiving without concern for drops or dust exposure.
Electronics and circuit board screening Verify lead-free solder and screen assembled boards and components for restricted substances. Straightforward RoHS pass/fail screening for standard compliance jobs.
Consumer products and toys Screen painted surfaces, plastic parts, metal components, and apparel hardware for lead, cadmium, and restricted substances. The Vanta platform is accepted for EU RoHS, WEEE, CPSIA, and ASTM F963 toy safety screening programs.
Supplier audits At 3.77 lbs with battery, the Element is the lightest instrument in the Vanta line. Practical for travel to supplier facilities for on-site spot-checking of incoming materials.
Halogen-free screening Screen for chlorine (Cl) and bromine (Br) alongside standard RoHS elements for combined RoHS and halogen-free compliance programs.
Important Accessory Note
The Vanta Work Station, Probe Shield, Hot Heel, and Weld Mask are not compatible with the Vanta Element. Compatible accessories include the Field Stand, Soil Foot, and Holster. If your inspection jobs require benchtop operation or closed-beam sample staging, consider the Vanta Element-S, Core, or Max, which support the full Vanta accessory lineup.
