The Evident Vanta GX-LT XRF Analyzer is an affordable benchtop XRF analyzer designed for fast, nondestructive testing of gold, jewelry, coins, silver, platinum, palladium, and other precious metals. Powered by silicon drift detector (SDD) technology, the Vanta GX-LT provides precious metal composition, purity, and gold karat results in seconds without damaging the item being tested.
Designed for jewelry stores, pawn shops, gold buyers, precious metal dealers, coin dealers, and other businesses that buy, sell, or evaluate valuables, the Vanta GX-LT brings XRF analysis directly to the countertop. Its enclosed sample chamber, integrated touchscreen, built-in camera, and simple push-button operation make it easy to incorporate professional XRF testing into everyday precious metal transactions.
Affordable SDD XRF for Gold and Precious Metal Testing
The Vanta GX-LT is the value-focused model in Evident's current Vanta GX benchtop XRF family. It combines a thermoelectrically cooled, high-resolution silicon drift detector (SDD) with a 2-watt, 35 kV X-ray tube and 9 mm analysis spot to provide reliable precious metal analysis at a lower cost than the premium GX-LTS configuration.
For businesses that primarily need routine gold, jewelry, coin, and precious metal testing—and do not require fine-spot analysis of very small features—the Vanta GX-LT provides a practical entry point into modern SDD-based benchtop XRF.
Vanta GX-LT Features

Evident designed the Vanta GX platform to provide actionable elemental chemistry rather than simply a pass/fail result, helping users evaluate the composition and potential value of precious-metal items.
Gold, Jewelry and Precious Metal Analysis
The Vanta GX-LT can be used to quickly analyze:
- Gold jewelry and scrap
- Silver and sterling silver
- Platinum
- Palladium
- Coins and bullion
- Precious metal valuables
- Unknown metals
- Plated jewelry
- Jewelry containing lead or cadmium
The analyzer can determine precious metal composition in seconds, provide gold karat information, alert the operator to gold plating, and screen jewelry for hazardous elements such as lead or cadmium.
Nondestructive XRF Testing Without Acids
XRF analysis enables operators to test valuable items without cutting, scratching, dissolving, or otherwise damaging the sample.
Testing is performed by placing the item inside the Vanta GX-LT sample chamber, closing the lid, and initiating the measurement. There is no need for acid handling or routine sample preparation. Results appear directly on the integrated touchscreen.
This makes the GX-LT particularly well suited to customer-facing environments where preserving the condition of jewelry, coins, and other valuables is essential.
Built for the Jewelry Counter
The Vanta GX-LT combines the analytical capabilities of XRF with an enclosed benchtop design intended for showroom and shop environments.
Operators can view results on the integrated touchscreen or display them on a larger screen when explaining results to customers. A built-in camera captures images that can be associated with test results for improved documentation, while data-transfer capabilities simplify record keeping and reporting.
Enclosed XRF Safety System
The Vanta GX-LT uses X-rays inside a controlled, shielded sample chamber. The analyzer is designed to emit X-rays only when the lid is closed, while front and rear safety indicators show when X-rays are being generated.
An X-ray shielding glass window enables the operator and customer to continuously view the item being analyzed while maintaining the instrument's shielding system.

Vanta GX-LT vs. Vanta GX-LTS
The Vanta GX-LT is designed as the affordable model for routine precious metal analysis. It features a 2-watt, 35 kV X-ray tube and a single 9 mm measurement spot.
Customers who need higher-throughput testing, higher precision, or analysis of small and complex jewelry features should consider the Vanta GX-LTS. The GX-LTS increases the excitation source to 4 watts and 40 kV and provides selectable 9 mm, 3 mm, and 1 mm spot sizes. The smaller spots enable more targeted analysis of features such as ring prongs, clasps, and two-tone jewelry.
