What Sets the Vanta Core Apart for RoHS
8-Position Filter Wheel for Optimized Multi-Beam Analysis The Vanta Core runs an 8-position autoselected filter wheel - the same configuration as the top-of-line Vanta Max and a significant step up from the 4-position wheel on the Element-S. With eight filter positions available per beam per mode, the Core can optimize signal-to-background ratio independently for each element group across the full RoHS screening sequence. This produces faster, more precise results across the widest range of material types and restricted substances without operator input.
Add the 3 mm Collimator for Small Component Work The Vanta Core supports optional collimation to a 3 mm diameter beam spot - one of its most important differentiators for RoHS work on electronics. Standard handheld XRF beams of 6 to 8 mm can overlap adjacent components, solder joints, or substrate material on a populated circuit board, averaging surrounding materials into the result and potentially masking a non-compliant reading. The 3 mm collimator reduces the beam to target individual solder joints, SMD components, connector pins, and component leads with precision. This level of targeted analysis was previously only achievable with benchtop XRF instruments. The collimator is a factory-installed hardware accessory and must be specified at time of order.
Vanta Work Station Compatible The Vanta Core is fully compatible with the Vanta Work Station - a battery-operated portable benchtop enclosure with a fully interlocked lid and 360-degree shielding. The Work Station allows operators to stage small or irregularly shaped samples, circuit boards, and components in a stable, reproducible position for longer or repeated measurement sequences. Results are more consistent when sample position is fixed, which matters especially when working near regulatory thresholds or building a statistically valid screening program. The Work Station can be operated via Vanta PC software or the Vanta mobile app while the operator attends to other tasks.
4W X-Ray Tube at 50 kV with Silver or Rhodium Anode The Vanta Core runs a 4-watt X-ray tube at up to 50 kV with application-optimized anode material - silver (Ag) at 8-50 kV or rhodium (Rh) at 8-40 kV depending on configuration. The silver anode configuration is typically selected for RoHS and consumer product applications. More power and a wider kV range combined with the 8-position filter wheel gives the Core superior flexibility across diverse material types compared to the Element and Element-S.
Axon Technology for Repeatable Results Every Vanta analyzer is built on Evident's proprietary Axon technology. Axon uses ultra-low-noise electronics to enable higher X-ray counts per second, producing fast, accurate, and repeatable results. Test-to-test and instrument-to-instrument repeatability are exceptional - your first measurement and your last are consistent, and results match across multiple Core units if your team runs a fleet. For compliance programs where results near thresholds determine pass, fail, or inconclusive, repeatability is not a secondary concern.
SDD Detector with Graphene Window The Vanta Core uses a silicon drift detector with a high-sensitivity graphene window, providing strong sensitivity across the full range of RoHS restricted substances in both polymer and alloy matrices.
IP55 Rated for Demanding Environments The Vanta Core is rated IP55 - dust protected and protected against low-pressure water jets from all directions. This is a step up from the IP54 rating on the Element and Element-S models, and makes the Core the better choice for environments where water exposure from cleaning, condensation, or outdoor conditions is a real risk.

Custom setups, pass/fail thresholds, and user configurations can be pushed across an entire fleet from a central PC. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity via optional USB adapter. USB 2.0 ports for data export and accessories.
