What Sets the Vanta Max Apart for RoHS
Large-Area SDD Detector with Graphene Window The Vanta Max uses a large-area silicon drift detector with a high-sensitivity graphene window - the highest performance detector configuration in the Vanta line. Larger active detector area means more X-rays captured per second, which translates directly to faster measurement times and lower detection limits. The graphene window improves light element transmission compared to conventional beryllium windows. For RoHS programs where cadmium at 100 ppm is the most demanding threshold to screen reliably, the large-area SDD gives the Max a measurable performance advantage over standard SDD configurations.
8-Position Filter Wheel for Full Multi-Beam Optimization The Vanta Max runs an 8-position autoselected filter wheel per beam per mode - the same configuration as the Core and the highest available in the Vanta line. Eight filter positions allow independent optimization of signal-to-background ratio for each element group across the complete RoHS screening sequence. Lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium, bromine, and chlorine are each measured under optimized beam conditions without operator input, producing the fastest and most precise results across the widest range of material types.
Embedded GPS for Location-Based Traceability The Vanta Max includes an embedded GPS and GLONASS receiver - exclusive to the Max in the Vanta line. Every measurement is automatically tagged with precise location coordinates. For compliance programs spanning multiple supplier facilities, production lines, or inspection sites, GPS tagging creates an auditable record of where each measurement was taken. This is particularly valuable for supplier audit programs where documentation of on-site testing is part of the compliance record.
Hot-Swap Battery for Continuous Operation The Vanta Max supports hot-swap battery capability - the only model in the Vanta line that does. The 3 mm Collimator for Small Component Work The Vanta Max supports optional collimation to a 3 mm diameter beam spot. Vanta Work Station Compatible The Vanta Max is fully compatible with the Vanta Work Station - a battery-operated portable benchtop enclosure with a fully interlocked lid and 360-degree shielding. The Work Station stages small or irregularly shaped samples, circuit boards, and components in a stable, reproducible position for longer or repeated measurement sequences. Combined with the 3 mm collimator, the Max and Work Station together provide the most controlled and precise RoHS screening setup in the Vanta lineup. The Work Station can be operated via Vanta PC software or the Vanta mobile app.
4W X-Ray Tube at 50 kV with Rhodium Anode The Vanta Max runs a 4-watt, 50 kV rhodium anode X-ray tube. The rhodium anode is well suited for the broad elemental range required in RoHS screening, providing strong excitation across both lighter regulated elements and heavier restricted substances in polymer and alloy matrices.
Axon Technology for Repeatable Results Every Vanta analyzer is built on Evident's proprietary Axon technology. Axon uses ultra-low-noise electronics to enable higher X-ray counts per second, producing fast, accurate, and repeatable results.
